Security

Security recommendations due to increasing internet fraud

In recent years, Kazakhstan has faced a serious problem of increasing internet fraud related to the use of payment cards and electronic money in illegal schemes. Given the scale of internet fraud and citizen involvement in such schemes, it is recommended to follow these security rules:

1. Do not share personal data. Never give strangers your bank details, card data or electronic payment system accounts, even if it seems like easy money is being offered. Criminals may promise rewards, but the consequences may be much more serious.

2. Verify information sources. If you are offered part-time work or participation in financial schemes, be careful. Verify the credibility of offers and companies you are going to interact with. Real organizations will not ask for access to your personal data and payment accounts.

3. Set up transaction notifications. Activate notifications on your phone or email to track all operations on your card. This will help you notice suspicious operations in time and block them promptly.

4. Use reliable antivirus programs and two-factor authentication. Protect your devices from spyware that can track data entry. Using two-factor authentication on accounts increases security.

5. Be aware of the consequences. Criminals may offer monetary rewards in exchange for card details. Participation in such schemes may result in liability under applicable law.
